"With God, all things are possible..."

That's Mark 10:27, for the record. It's what we are clinging to at the moment. It is nothing new...it is a verse that I always live by but it has a lot more meaning when a true miracle is our only hope. The news is not good...it is definitely cancer, we just don't know what kind yet. Without the pathology report the doctor can't say much about options but she has suggested that if it is bad as they suspect then there really are no options. And honestly, if they suggest treatment my grandmother may not do it...she battled cancer once before in the 60's & it was REALLY hard on her & my grandpa so I don't know that she would be a willing participant. I was okay on Friday & Saturday. She was still unconcious & it didn't seem like my Mama in there. On Sunday (& this is somewhat of a miracle in itself) they were able to wake her up. And they did it much more quickly then they thought they could. By the time we left yesterday evening, she was squeezing my hand & telling me that she loved me. She was a WHOLE lot more alert than they thought she would be. Today will be the hard day...they will have to tell her all of the horrible news...I think they thought they wouldn't have to until the end of the week but she is a VERY strong lady & is fighting harder than they thought possible. The doctor made the comment that she has only seen two cases worse than hers & they aren't sure how she walked into the hospital. She is TOUGH!!! I found out lots more talking to my great aunt this weekend. Apparantly my grandma has suspected something is bad wrong for a LONG time. Two Christmas's ago she began telling my aunt where the presents were if something happened to her before then. She did the same thing last Christmas. When she got so down in the last month, she apparantly wrote her own obituary & picked out photo's for a slide show. Crazy lady...she is always such a planner...even to the last minute:). We will have a better idea of what is to come on Thursday. The doctor's all come together to form a plan of action. My grandfather is doing really well considering. Please continue to pray for us...this will be a REALLY tough week. She doesn't want to see me & that is hard...I know it is because she doesn't want me to remember her like this. We are praying for a miracle...Brad's cousin said it best when she said she was praying for quick healing or that she will go home to be with Jesus quickly. I cannot imagine life without her but I am okay with either...I just want her to be happy & whole. She is just so amazing...I think she held out to see my cousin Katie graduate & to hold Shayden...she did both & then she went downhill FAST. I just thank God that I have had her this long...& I will keep praying that I get to keep her longer. It is all in His hands & I know that no matter what it will all be okay. God has already shown His grace through her strength & determination. And I know He will not abandon us now...

If you have time, there is a new blogger among us....my cousin, Lindsey. She wrote about the same situation & had some beautiful insight...

Thanks for all of the prayers....love you all!

Please Pray

It's my grandma's birthday today...she turned 75. What a way to spend it. We drove in to Oklahoma City today & got more bad news. The cancer is bad...it is not what they thought or expected. There is really not much they can do. She has not even woken up from the surgery...they certainly didn't expect that. It was supposed to be routine. We don't know that she will wake up. The doctor's have her in a medically induced coma basically. They seem to think that they can wake her up...they need to so they can figure out what her wishes are. It is just a mess...an unexpected mess. Thank you for all of the prayers they are definitely felt. I guess I have a sort of peace about her going on to Heaven...the pain will go away & the options for what little time she might get are not pretty. I don't know how to accept life without her...it is heartbreaking that she might not be around. My grandfather is doing as well as he can & the rest of us are just hanging in there. I think my grandmother has known for awhile that she is sick, she just didn't want us to know. Please continue to pray for her...we haven't given up on a miracle...

Bishop

A lot of my blogs have been focused on Shayden lately. She is wonderful in every way but I wanted to talk about Bishop for a minute. He is such a beautiful little boy both inside & out. I know that this new sister has got to be hard on him...she has robbed a lot of mommy's attention...but you would never know that there has been a change. He has become a WONDERFUL big brother. He rarely gets upset when he is put on hold to feed his sister or when I can't play games because she is crying. He worries more about why she is crying. Early this morning he wanted to hold her like he does most mornings. He never holds her long but he likes to lay her in his lap & just look at her & he gets SO excited when she looks up at him or grabs his finger. "Mommy, Shayden is looking at me....she loves me." I snapped the top picture as he was explaining, "Mommy..Shayden is BIG now...she is growing like me. Her feet are bigger, her legs, her arms!" All the while just staring at her & pointing to various limbs. He is such a soft hearted little boy. At Brad's family reunion he got to meet his cousin who was adopted from Russia. He is a DOLL and immediatly ran up to Bishop & hugged him. Bishop hugged him back & then realized he had no hands. Bish instantly became concerned...not upset, just really worried as to what was wrong. If he inherits half of his daddy's charm & a fraction of his mommy's compassion then watch out world. He will be unstoppable!! Sorry, I just wanted to brag about my baby boy who isn't so baby anymore:)! If you have a moment...go listen to the song on this page...

Happy ONE MONTH Birthday Shayden!

That's right...I have no idea how but she is ONE MONTH OLD today!! She is still in preemie clothes but she IS growing!! Actually the onsie she is wearing is 0-3 months but it is a SMALL 0-3. She should be up to 8 pounds by now. One of the pictures was taken next to Shadow to give you a better example of how big she is. She is ABOUT Shadow's size & he is about 8 1/2 pounds. Speaking of Shadow...I don't know if I have ever blogged about him. He is VERY protective of her...I am so tired of him barking at everything! He stays near her all of the time. When she starts crying...he is the first one in the room to check on her. Shadow is a pain but he is amazing with babies. Anyhoo...hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Ours was uneventful (Except for meeting some friends on Saturday:) but FABULOUS!! Happy Monday!!
