Who does Shayden look like?

Gee, do you think these babies look alike? When Shayden was born she looked so much like me & now everyday she looks more & more like Bishop.

The world's shortest fairy tale...

Once upon a time, a girl asked a guy, "Will you marry me?" The guy said "No" and the girl lived happily ever after and went shopping, drank martinis, always had a clean house, never had to cook, stayed skinny, and was never farted on. The End.

Celebrity 101

I love to watch Extra & Entertainment Tonight. I find the lives of celebrities to be very interesting. I don't envy them...I am past the days of wanting to be one, but the way they live just fasctinates me. It is my guilty pleasure that I hate to confess to:). I am, however, SO tired of hearing about all the bickering & feuding. So here is my two cents even though it matters not & it actually effects me none at all...

I cannot stand Rosie O'Donnell. I have disliked her since she was so ugly to Tom Selleck about gun control. (I am a proud member of the NRA but that is a whole NOTHER blog:). Rosie has been immature & quite ugly to Donald Trump. Did he deserve it...I'm not sure. I have mixed feelings about giving Miss America a second chance but he shouldn't be dogged...it's his pageant, his choice, & everyone makes mistakes. But what little respect I had for Donald Trump was lost when he fired back. He called her fat & a slob....that's REAL mature. And THEN he brought Barbara Walters into the ring...that was tacky. They are both ridiculous & I wish that the media would quit given them 5 minutes of fame over the issue.

On to the set of Grey's Anatomy...I am tired of the public bashing Isaiah Washington. He has been in the news a few times for misbehavior on the set so he may very well be a twirp. Was it wrong for him to use a slur? YES...it was very wrong!! Did he apoligize? Yes, he did. I am sorry that it was said, I don't think people should ever resort to name calling or judge other people based on race, religion, or sexual preference but come on....fire him? We have all said things that we shouldn't have & things that we have immediatly regretted saying...let the punishment fit the crime...

Finally...American Idol. People are SO upset with Simon...GIVE ME A BREAK!!! This is the SIXTH season people...his harsh commentary is NOTHING new! You knew he would be mean when you sat down to watch & I guarantee that they would not have 37 miliion viewers each week if he wasn't on there being tacky!!! He is no more harsh this year than last...and if it bothers you that much...QUIT WATCHING!!! And another thing....if you have a child that wants to try out for AI & they sing horribly...TELL THEM! Don't let them make fools of themselves on national television!!

I have said my peace....I realize that most people have quit reading already........

Time

Time is one of those things that can drag on when times are tough & fly by when things are wonderful. Somedays seem LONG to me & I wonder when bedtime will arrive & others I find myself at 10 o' clock wondering where the day went. I guess it is the same way with years & months. Yesterday arrived & went & it was the six month marker of losing my grandmother. It was a good day which would make her happy. I sat down on the bed & wondered what all she had missed in 6 months...it seems like such a short time. She missed Papa's birthday, Labor day, Bish's birthday party, my mom's birthday, Josh & Katie's wedding, the twins birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, my aunt's surgery...it seems like a lot more time when you put it into those terms. I sat there & I cried a little...I still miss her so much...I am tearing up writing this. It has gotten easier though...I don't cry just driving down the road as much. I wasn't even all that sad yesterday....something I almost feel bad about except that I know that she would not want me to be. Someone mentioned that she is watching me all the time...I don't know how I feel about that statement. I am not sure that we really know that they do. I would like to think that she does, but does she really? Or does she sit up there & sing & worship God & just bask in the glory & grace of God? I don't know....I wish I did. What I do know is that I still miss her terribly but I feel better knowing that she is with Jesus...hanging out & loving it. I do hope that she sees us...I hope that she see's Bishop talking about her...I hope that she is the reason that Shayden smiles at nothing, I hope that she see's that I have realized just how amazing she was & that I want to be like her...because being like her is like trying to be more like Christ.

I am rambling...just trying to out my emotions into words....

It's funny because I am so cynical. I laugh when people romantisize things & days that are gone. Like when a girlfriend finds herself single & thinks back to a jerk boyfriend & only remembers the good stuff...not that he cheated on her twice, just that he made her laugh. And I feel like all I remember are the wonderful things about my Mama...I know she wasn't perfect but she was such a good person that I have trouble remembering any faults. She was always patient, she always listened, she never spoke ugly to anyone....I want to be remembered like that.

I must go...I have rambled long enough....have a fabu Monday!!!

TIred of ice...

We Texans must annoy God with all of our complaints about the weather. "It's TOO hot, it's too cold, we need rain, that's too much rain, I'm tired of snow & ice..." The list goes on. We must drive him crazy!!! Of course, Texas is the only state where it can go from 70 degrees to 15 in a single 24 hour period so maybe he cuts us a little slack.

That said...I AM TIRED OF THIS WEATHER. My four year old NEEDS to be outside running & climbing & burning energy. I want to go outside...it is nightmarishly cold & I am tired of the MUD!! I am sure Shelah is ready for a change since she has been banned due to muddy feet. I remind her EVERYDAY that she is an ARTIC dog & is supposed to enjoy this weather & she responds by putting her face through the pet door & whining to be let in. And don't even get me started on the electric bill...

Okay...I am done complaining. Shayden is fussy so I must go....

ADIOS!

The innocent faces are just an act...:)

Adorable...

Always into SOMETHING...

Look...PICTURES:)!

These pictures are compliments of Elizabeth. She took some really cute ones of the kids last weekend when she so graciously baby-sat for us!! She emailed them to me & since I haven't posted pictures since BEFORE Christmas I am SO excited to post them:)! My babies are growing up SO fast!!

Bishop is LOVING school...I can already see such a change in him. He needs that social interaction...he is just like me, he just loves people. He has already made some fabulous crafts & on Tuesday he wrote "L's" He did so good I had to ask the teacher if he did them himself. I guess those tracing books are really helping...thanks Gammy. (If anyone has a toddler, I highly recommend the KUMON learning books. They are GREAT!!) Even on the first day his teachers said he fit right in. THANK YOU MOM & DAD!!! I hate to admit how nice it is for me too...while Shayden is asleep I get some ME time...how glorious!!

Shayden is about to crawl!! She is so close! She can get places scooting & rolling but she will crawl soon. She wants to be walking & insists on standing all the time. I think we may try to find her a walker this weekend so she can stand on her own!

That is all for today....have a FABULOUS TGIF!!!

Somebody stop me...

Next time I decide to go to Albertson's to buy a few groceries on sale...PLEASE STOP ME!! I need only to go there for baby food. I do NOT need anything that is on sale because it will NOT ring up on sale & I WILL end up at the service counter in yet another line to get a refund!!! This has not happened just once, not even twice, but EVERY time I Go to ALbertson's. They can NOT get stuff in their computer and the cashier never has a clue even if I point it out....it is not even ridiculous...the local Albertson's is a JOKE! This trip I wanted some apples...they were 25 cents a piece but I was charged 99 cents a pound totaling $3.96. I truck on up to the service desk & explain the problem. She says, "You bought apples." I respond, "Yes, & they are priced wrong." She looks at me & then walks off towards produce...I guess I must look like I want to rip them off for their apples. She finally came back & said, "You were right." I politely informed her that I have had a lot of trouble with prices being wrong...she responds with, "yea, it happens a lot." THEN FIX IT!!!!!! Sorry....I am a little irritated....

And can I also give props to the Dallas School District for remaining open today & risking the lives of thousands of children & teachers. We applaud you for not closing your doors...we realize that education is much more important than SAFETY!!!! As if you don't already ask your teachers to do too much, you have now asked them to risk their lives for "TEKS preperation." Yes, a representative of DISD called into a news station & told them that they felt that buses could run safely, that electricty would remain on & that the TEKS test is coming up so they need to prepare for it. WHAT WERE YOU GUYS THINKING?!?!?!? All you did was cost a lot of teachers a personal leave day, paid for a lot of subs, & cost hundreds of kids perfect attendance because they thought being safe was the better choice. Way to go guys!!

I am done now...obviously the weather has made me a tad...irritable....:)

I hope everyone survives the ice!!!

Ten Things I will absolutely NOT do in 2007...
1) watch "The View" and say "gosh that Rosie sure is smart."
2) decide to have another child
3) quit reading & writing in my devotional book
4) take on anymore responsibility at work...taking your kids to work with you may SOUND like a great idea but it doesn't work all that well
5) tell people to call before they come over...no one ever needs an invitation to be here!
6) put my Christmas tree up AFTER Thanksgiving...sorry Shawnee...:)
7) not make time for reading books...I have missed curling up with a book!
8) take my life for granted...everything happends for a reason...God is always working in everything...I am SO blessed!!
9) stay off of the computer...it is my vice!
10) buy anymore jeans...I WILL get back into my own!!

Only in Texas..

Weather like this only happens in Texas. The day started out nice...cloudy, cool, but otherwise NICE! No jacket was needed. NOW we are under a winter storm warning & they are telling us that we may not be able to leave our homes on Sunday?!?!?! And I am stressed because I am supposed to be having a party tomorrow night & don't know whether or not to cancel it?!?!?! Will it be bad or won't it...the weather men have been wrong before but, but...who knows?!? I will pray about it...let God decide. He is the all knowing one:)!! I am off to bed...somewhere I should have been LONG ago!!!

Complaint desk...

My complaint desk is open. And by open I mean I am going to complain:)!

The day started out rocky as ALL Wednesdays do. Getting ready to go to work is not easy when you are as disorganized as I am. I admit that some of it is my fault & I am working on it but either way...it is just hard. We finally were all ready to go & got on the road. There is a place just down the road from our home where the traffic from one lane must merge into another. As we approached this place, I turned on my blinker to do so since I had plenty of room & guess what? A red car speeds up & blocks me from merging?!?!?!?! They almost ran me off the road. I was shocked because I couldn't for the life of me figure out what the point of that was & then I saw it. The UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS alumni sticker on the back window. Finally it was clear:)! I should have known...:). You know...I have always said that if it came down to a choice between A & M & UT, I would choose UT. NOW...they can stick it too...I refuse to choose...GUNS UP baby!!!

People seem to forget that they are representing entire organizations when they post a sticker on their car, whether it be a college, something like NRA, a company they work for or love, or even a local church. People need to think twice about road rage or driving crazy if they are representing someone else!!!

Sorry if you find this offensive...I am only HALF-way serious...:)! Feel free to leave me hate mail...:)

New Beginnings...

I have been avoiding my blog. Not because I don't have a lot to say (we all know better than that:) but because I despise the laptop. We still haven't gotten my computer fixed so I am still using Brad's. I AM getting better at typing on here which means that I will probably have trouble typing on my own computer when it comes back from the doctor:)! I also can't post Christmas pictures so it makes it hard to talk about Christmas. I refuse to blog about it until I can post pics so you may see a Christmas blog in March...just laugh & know that I am silly:)!
I also need to blog about my New Year do's & dont's. I am already failing miserably with the "get in shape" goal. I HATE aerobics so I don't know why I even try. I just need an idea for some cardio 3 times a week. I don't want to run marathons...I just want to be somewhat in shape. You would think keeping up with Bishop & Shayden all day everyday would do it but alas, it does not!!!

I would also like to find my waistline again. Shayden destroyed it...& YES, I can blame my children for that one. I WILL get it back but they still get the blame:)!

Shayden is 7 months old today...I am so floored by that. She is close to crawling & is into EVERYTHING!! She put her first "foreign object" in her mouth today & tried to eat it. It was a piece of paper & she almost choked...here we go!!!

Bishop is going back to school two days a week!! (I may ACTUALLY get a nap:)!! We have decided that he is not quite ready for team sports this year. I don't think he is quite mature enough yet & with Shayden in tow, I don't feel like I can keep him in line at all of the practices & such. We have opted to let him go back to Mother's Day Out for the spring. He misses it & I think it will be good for him to be around kids more. He is super excited & so is MOM!!

I want to give credit where credit is due!! You have probably noticed that my blog is MUCH cuter now!! My good friend, LaShawn aka Shawnee fixed this for me!! I LOVE IT!!! She is the one I steal ALL the cool stuff from & she is also the guilty party who got me blogging!! So, thank you Shawnee..:)!!!
