Please Pray

It's my grandma's birthday today...she turned 75. What a way to spend it. We drove in to Oklahoma City today & got more bad news. The cancer is bad...it is not what they thought or expected. There is really not much they can do. She has not even woken up from the surgery...they certainly didn't expect that. It was supposed to be routine. We don't know that she will wake up. The doctor's have her in a medically induced coma basically. They seem to think that they can wake her up...they need to so they can figure out what her wishes are. It is just a mess...an unexpected mess. Thank you for all of the prayers they are definitely felt. I guess I have a sort of peace about her going on to Heaven...the pain will go away & the options for what little time she might get are not pretty. I don't know how to accept life without her...it is heartbreaking that she might not be around. My grandfather is doing as well as he can & the rest of us are just hanging in there. I think my grandmother has known for awhile that she is sick, she just didn't want us to know. Please continue to pray for her...we haven't given up on a miracle...

I'm so sorry, Shana...I will be praying for your whole family because I know exactly how you feel. This so totally reminds me of when Granny got sick so quickly (or so we all thought...I think she, too, had been sick much longer than she let on). The day she died was one of the hardest of my life, but it was also one of the most freeing...what a blessing it was that the Lord took her to heaven instead of having her suffer for a long time here on earth. I will pray that God will either heal your grandmother quickly or take her home quickly! Love you!
