Day 4...JESUS

Most people see that word & get scared. Some will see it & think, HERE WE GO...another Jesus freak wanting to convert us. Some will see it & think, I don't want to read another email or blog about Him...they all say the same thing. And who is she to write about Jesus anyways...she isn't perfect & boy could I tell you some stories?!?! And let me start by saying I am not perfect & many could tell some stories that would not portray my finest moments. BUT I am also not here to lecture or try to guilt you into becoming a Jesus freak. I am just writing about my experience at church this evening...I had such a great time. It was not a religious ceremony where there were robes & a perfect structure. We came together for a potluck dinner (man, I miss those!) where we ate off of paper plates & our preacher went & got my drink for me. Casual to say the least. We then went & took part in a worship service with people from many other Presby churches throughout the metroplex. The speaker spoke of how we are all equal & the same at the feet of Jesus...how true. And he also spoke of how we must be unified when we stand before His throne & go into the world. It doesn't matter the denomination or the church...it matters that Jesus is your one & only savior. I did learn a new word tonight...."churchianity." The speaker used it in reference to those who go to church week after week & go through the proper motions but miss the message. These people don't do it maliciously...they don't do it on purpose, but they do send a message to non-believers that is very damaging. I want to say that I am not perfect...I make poor choices...I do things that do not make God proud but I hope that people can see His love in me. The speaker, whose name is Jim reminded us that we cannot go into the world alone...we will falter. A sodlier cannot go into war without his army. We need help from other Christians. I wrote a blog a month or so ago about how you don't have to be in a church to love Jesus or to have a relationship with Him. I stand by that...I did point out that you must have someone to hold you accountable & help you along your walk & it is true. Jim told us that we are like snowflakes...alone we will all melt but together...we can stop traffic.
I wish all of the people that read the title & were instantly put on edge could have been there tonight. I truly believe that many who are uncomfortable with the name Jesus had a bad experience with various "religious" ceremonies. Exiled from communions or forced to sit through stuffy sermons of brimstone & hell...I wish they could have seen the people tonight who just gathered to love each other & lift each other up....
I will close now because I have become long winded....
Have a great week friends....

My picture today is just me...being me..being HAPPY...which is a nice change...:)

sounds like a wonderful time! I wish more people could get over their hangups about "Christians" and see that it isn't about that...it is about Jesus!

You don't know how wonderful it was to have you sitting beside us in church both Saturday and Sunday nights. We are so proud of the wonderful Christian you have become. I never gave up on you, you know! I always knew you would come back to it!
